Carbon Bows

Carbon bows are made of high density carbon fiber which is obtained by a two-stage combustion process of plastic fibers.

Several layers of carbon fiber are laid in different directions in a negative form. The enclosed epoxy resin and hardener fix the fiber and provide extra support under pressure. The one-piece bow rods are manufactured under pressure and appropriate heat.

  • High strength minimizes risk of breakage
  • Unaffected by weather conditions, therefore constant tension
  • Very good acoustic properties
  • Resistent to hand sweat
  • Excellent price performance ratio

Playing character

  • High speed sound conductivity
  • Low self-damping
  • Agile
  • Fast response
  • Clear sound

Depending on the quality, carbon bows are very suitable for students, superior grade carbon bows are also often used by professional musicians.

Differences in the various VIENNABOW qualities

The price difference is explained by the following differences:

A) carbon structure, such as the high quality bows made of K3-Carbon which has a very dense structur  B) the development of the negative moulds C) post processing by hand

Example based on violin bows
K3-Carbon, high precision negative mould, very accurate post-processing, 7 layers of varnishing in wooden desing
K2-Carbon, precise negative mould, precise post-processing. Only pure silver is used for VB1115 bows
K1-Carbon, precise negative mould, short post-processing
